Husqvarna Chainsaw Financing

Chainsaw Financing: Monthly Payments for Any Handheld Landscaping Tool

You’ve priced out the chainsaw – maybe a STIHL MS 271 for storm-season cleanup, or a Husqvarna commercial unit for your crew. Or maybe it’s not a chainsaw at all – it’s the trimmer, blower, or sprayer that’s been on your list. Either way, you know what you need, and you know quality equipment doesn’t come cheap. Luckily chainsaw financing is available to outdoor power equipment shoppers through Mower Finance.

Here’s where a lot of people get stuck: they assume financing is only an option for big-ticket equipment like zero-turn mowers or tractors. So they either drain their savings, put it on a credit card, or settle for a cheaper saw that ends up needing to be replaced.

What if you could break that chainsaw – or your trimmer, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, or sprayer – into manageable monthly payments, with one easy application?

That’s exactly what Mower Finance does. Despite our name, we finance a full range of outdoor power equipment through the Terrace Finance platform – including handheld tools most people don’t realize they can finance at all.

What Counts as Eligible and Qualified Units of Handheld Landscaping Equipment – and Can You Finance It?

Short answer: yes, all of it.

The handheld category covers more than most people think: chainsaws, string trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, pole saws, brush cutters, backpack sprayers, and multi-tool combo kits. If you use it to maintain a property – yours or someone else’s – there’s a good chance Mower Finance can arrange financing for it.

As Andy Hopkins, CEO of Mower Finance and a working landscaper himself, puts it: “People come to us for mowers, and they’re always a little surprised when they find out we can finance the rest of the truck too. The chainsaw, the trimmer, the blower – all of it. Same application, same process.”

Here’s a breakdown of what you can finance and what to expect for each tool type.

Financing Options by Tool Type

Chainsaw Financing

A solid residential chainsaw – the kind that can actually handle a downed hardwood after a storm – runs $300 to $800. A professional-grade unit from STIHL or Husqvarna can push $1,200 to $2,000 or more for commercial work.

With chainsaw financing through Mower Finance, a $600 saw might run somewhere in the range of $30–55 per month depending on your program and term. That’s a lot easier to absorb than a $600 hit to your savings account, especially heading into storm season.

New and used chainsaws are both eligible. So if you’ve found a well-maintained used commercial saw for a good price, that’s fair game too.

String Trimmer and Weed Eater Financing

A lot of landscapers and homeowners are surprised that you can finance a trimmer. But when a commercial-grade string trimmer or weed eater runs $400–$900, it starts to make a lot more sense.

Residential battery-powered units typically land in the $150–$400 range. If you’re buying just one, you might pay cash. But if you’re a landscaping business adding a second or third unit mid-season – or you’re buying a multi-tool combo kit that covers trimmer, edger, and blower together – string trimmer financing or weed eater financing through Mower Finance keeps your working capital intact.

Leaf Blower Financing

Residential backpack blowers run $200–$600. Commercial-grade units from Echo, STIHL, or Husqvarna can top $1,200 for models built to handle heavy leaf and debris volume.

Fall means leaf season, obviously. Spring brings its own mess too – storm debris, winter buildup, grass clippings – and a blower that’s been sitting idle all winter is often the first thing to break down. That’s where leaf blower financing helps – a reliable unit now, without the big upfront hit.

Hedge Trimmer Financing

Standard residential hedge trimmers cost $100–$300. Once you move into commercial extended-reach units or articulating-head models for precision work, you’re looking at $400–$900 or more – especially for combo multi-tool kits.

Hedge trimmer financing is a natural fit whether you’re a homeowner ready to upgrade from a basic trimmer or a landscaping crew that needs commercial-grade power – either way, top-tier models can carry a price tag that doesn’t have to come out of savings or operating cash all at once.

Pole Saw Financing

Residential pole saws run $150–$600. Professional arborist-grade units can reach $800–$1,200. If you’re in tree care or do regular property clearing, the right pole saw makes all the difference… and financing makes the decision a lot easier!

Brush Cutter Financing

A commercial brush cutter built for heavy clearing can run $200–$800 for a quality unit. Brush cutter financing is popular with land clearing crews and landscaping businesses that work on larger rural or overgrown properties where a standard string trimmer won’t cut it (literally).

Backpack Sprayer Financing

This one surprises people the most. Powered backpack sprayers for fertilization and pest control routes run $300–$1,500 for a professional unit. If you’re running a lawn care operation that includes chemical application, sprayer financing through Mower Finance is an option most of your competitors don’t know about – and that’s an advantage worth taking.

One Application. Every Tool. Every Credit Profile.

Here’s the thing about Mower Finance: we’re not a single lender. We’re a platform connected to 50+ payment solution providers. Your application gets routed through our finance partners to the provider that’s the best match for your credit profile and purchase amount. Mower Finance considers all credit profiles and helps route applicants toward competitive options.

That means whether you have excellent credit, average credit, limited credit history, or you’re rebuilding – there are specialized financing alternatives for lower credit scores, though approval rates still depend on overall credit worthiness.

Our personal financing programs cover three main tiers:

  • Personal Equipment Loan – for upper-tier credit customers. $1,000–$50,000, fixed rate APR, 12–60 month terms, new and used equipment eligible.
  • Low Payments Lease – for average credit customers. $200–$15,000, $1 due at signing, skip-a-payment option available, 30 Days Same as Cash option, and equipment leasing can provide lower monthly payments than purchasing outright.
  • No Credit Needed Program – no credit check required. $200–$7,500, fast decision, flexible terms, with no-credit-check leases that work as lease-to-own programs for handheld equipment.

How Much Can You Finance with Credit Approval, and What Might Monthly Payments Look Like?

Financing offers vary by your credit profile, the program you qualify for, and the interest rate attached to that offer, so the figures below are an estimate rather than a guaranteed quote. But here are some rough ballpark estimates to give you a feel for what monthly payments might look like on common handheld equipment:

ToolEstimated Purchase PriceEstimated Monthly Payment*
Mid-grade chainsaw$600~$30-55/mo
Commercial string trimmer$500~$25-45/mo
Backpack leaf blower$700~$35-60/mo
Hedge trimmer + pole saw kit$900~$45-75/mo
Powered backpack sprayer$1,200~$55-95/mo
*Estimate means estimate only. Actual terms provided vary by approval, and details like
promotional rates or fees depend on the program. Use our payment estimator for a real
quote.

A few things to keep in mind:
Look at total cost, not just the monthly number. A longer term means a lower payment
but more interest paid over time. If you can handle a higher monthly payment, a shorter
term saves you money. For some buyers, promotional rates can start at 0%, and
repayment periods may run from 12 to 60 months.

There’s no penalty for early payoff on most of our programs, so if your cash position
improves mid-season, you can pay it off ahead of schedule. Some loans include an
origination fee of about $150, and no down payment may be available for qualified buyers.

Minimum purchase amounts apply. Our lease and no-credit-needed programs start at
$50, while some other lenders set a minimum amount financed of $1,500, and certain
categories can reach a maximum amount financed of $75,000.

Homeowner or Landscaping Pro – Mower Finance Works for Both

A homeowner financing a chainsaw for storm cleanup and a landscaping business owner
financing a trimmer for their crew have almost exactly the same questions. The main
difference is what happens when you’re buying for a business.

If you’re a landscaping professional, there are real advantages to applying for financing in
your business name rather than your personal name – including keeping the agreement off
your personal credit and building business credit you can use to grow. We’ve written about
this in detail: 6 Advantages to Applying for Financing in Your Business Name.

For homeowners, the math is simpler: monthly payments protect your savings. Keeping
$600–$1,200 in your emergency fund instead of spending it on a chainsaw means you’re
not scrambling if something else breaks down.

“Whether you’re buying one tool for your backyard or outfitting a crew truck, the goal is the
same,” Andy says. “Get the right equipment without blowing up your budget. That’s what
we’re here for.”

And if you’re in the market for a riding mower too, our riding mower financing guide walks
through all the same payment options for your next big purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions About Chainsaw and Landscaping Tool Financing

Can I finance a chainsaw with bad credit?
Yes. Our No Credit Needed Program covers purchases from $50–$7,500 without requiring
perfect credit. Approval is based on income and other qualifications, not just your credit
score. If you have fair or rebuilding credit, we also have payment solution providers who
specialize in your credit tier through our standard programs.

What’s the minimum amount I can finance?
$50 for our lease and no-credit-needed programs. $1,000 for the personal equipment loan.
Most mid-grade and commercial handheld tools fall within these ranges.

Can I finance used landscaping equipment?
Yes. Used equipment is eligible under most of our programs. Whether you’re buying new
from a dealer or picking up a well-maintained used saw, you can apply with Mower Finance for used landscaping equipment financing.

How long does approval take?
Most decisions come back same-day. Once you’re matched with a payment solution
provider, they’ll reach out to finalize terms. The whole process – from application to
approved and ready to buy – typically takes less than 24 hours.

Can I finance a chainsaw and a string trimmer in the same application?
Yes. A single application can cover a full equipment purchase. If you’re bundling a
chainsaw, trimmer, and blower together, consider grouping them into one transaction – it
may help you qualify for a higher program tier with better terms. As the bundle gets larger,
product eligibility and whether the items are eligible and qualified units purchased through
a participating dealer can affect which program is available for qualified units purchased.

Is Mower Finance only for mowers?
Despite the name, no. Mower Finance arranges financing for the full range of outdoor power equipment – mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, pole saws, brush cutters, backpack sprayers, and more – through the Terrace Finance platform. If you use it outdoors, there’s a good chance we can finance it.

And you’re not limited to one tool per application. Need a chainsaw and a trimmer and a new sprayer? Bundle them with a single approval instead of running separate financing on each one. Check with a participating local dealer for available flexible financing, assistance choosing the best plan for the equipment you want, and any other financing offers. Some manufacturer programs, including offers on STIHL handheld products, are only available through a participating dealer.

The right tools make the work easier. Financing makes the right tools accessible – even when the timing isn’t perfect or the budget is tight.

One application. Every handheld tool. Every credit profile.

Mower Finance is powered by Terrace Finance, a multi-lender platform serving personal,
commercial, and municipal financing needs across the landscaping industry. All credit
profiles welcome. Financing offers are subject to credit approval. Terms vary by program
and credit profile.
